Discover the Healing Power of Laser Therapy
The MR4 Laser is a non-invasive FDA approved technology that uses specific wavelengths of light to create therapeutic effects such as improved healing, reduced pain and swelling and increased circulation. This laser emits energy in the form of photons which are absorbed by the cells and tissues to convert light into biochemical energy.
This restores normal cell function which creates proven clinical results without side effects. We have an array of different components allowing large or small areas to be treated quickly and easily.
Commonly treated conditions include:
- Sprains/Strains
- Tendonitis
- Bursitis
- Back and neck pain
- Sciatica
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Tennis/Golfers Elbow
- Knee pain
- Arthritis
- Plantar fasciitis
- TMJ

What is laser or light therapy?
Research demonstrates that injuries treated with laser therapy heal faster. In addition, laser therapy:
- Has a strengthening effect on tissue repair;
- Improves blood flow and lymphatic drainage;
- Is an effective means of relief for many pain syndromes;
- Can improve immune response.
Low level laser and LED Therapy is the use of specific wavelengths of light (red or near infrared) to create therapeutic effects, including:
- Improved healing time
- Pain reduction
- Increased circulation
- Decreased swelling
The light may be provided by a low power laser or an LED (light emitting diode). Union Chiropractic is now offering MR4 Laser therapy, a progressive and pain free treatment with no known side-effects as part of our wellness services. Laser emits energy in a form of photons; these particles of energy are absorbed by cells and tissue resulting in conversion of light into biochemical energy. Multiple physiological responses are thereby initiated and normal cell function is restored. This process is curative and eliminates symptoms such as pain, edema and other symptoms of injury.
What is its history?
The effect of red light on cellular function has been known since 1880, however the clinical benefits were only discovered by accident during laser safety tests in 1967. The first lasers suitable for treating pain became available commercially in the late 1970s and ever since then, laser therapy has been widely utilized in Europe by physical therapists, nurses and doctors. Now after the FDA approval in 2002, laser therapy is quickly gaining popularity in the USA.
Applications of Laser Therapy
- Soft Tissue Injuries including tendinopathies, back and neck pain, carpal tunnel syndrome and other repetitive strain injuries, myofascial trigger points, epicondylitis (tennis elbow), sprains, strains, chondromalacia patellae, and plantar fasciitis.
- Degenerative joint conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.
- Neurogenic pain including herpes zoster (shingles), RSD/CRPS, post-traumatic injury, trigeminal neuralgia, fibromyalgia and diabetic neuropathy.
- Chronic non-healing wounds such as venous ulcers, amputee stumps, diabetic foot ulcers and burns.
